It is important to teach your child good sleep habits

  1. Keep a fairly regular schedule for bedtimes and wake times.

  2. Be consistent in bedtime routines. In early years a bedtime story, and in later years, reading or another quiet activity, can serve as a cue for sleep.

  3. From the first, encourage children to fall asleep on their own, in their bed.

  4. Follow your own advice. Pay attention to getting the amount of sleep you need to feel and function well during the day.
